RESTART A HEART
Restart a Heart raises awareness about cardiac arrest and helps people to learn CPR, giving them lifesaving skills and the confidence to use them.
Restart a Heart
Sadly, less than one in 10 people survive a cardiac arrest. Performing CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) can more than double the chances of survival in some cases. Many cardiac arrests happen in out-of-hospital situations. So it's possible that you may witness one in your lifetime and the person experiencing a cardiac arrest may be someone you know, a family member, friend or colleague.
The British Heart Foundation along with RevivR would like to build a nation of lifesavers!
We're pleased to be able to invite you to take part in a 15 minute CPR training that teaches you exactly what to do when someone has a cardiac arrest. You can complete the RevivR training anywhere you want - all you need is your phone and a cushion. It's completely free, you just need to dedicate 15 minutes of your time.
As a team we can make a huge difference!
We want more people to survive by making sure you know that when someone collapses and stops breathing, it’s important to call 999, perform CPR and use a defibrillator if there’s one available nearby. Ask your manager where your nearest defibrillator is located.
As around 80% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in the home, this gives mums, dads, sons, daughters and friends the best chance of surviving.
Martin's story
A cardiac arrest is an emergency that usually happens without warning. If someone is in cardiac arrest, they may collapse, be unconscious, unresponsive and not breathing or not breathing normally (making gasping noises.) The person needs immediate treatment to prevent death.
Send us a pic with your certificate once you've completed your CPR training so we can add you to our lifesavers gallery Email:claudia_balderson@next.co.uk 🤩

"Our Manager Bryony thought that the CPR training would be an amazing life skill for everyone. I carried out the training at home and told my team what to expect from the training and how easy it was to set up and do.
Everyone was encouraged to complete this in work time, (it takes just 15 minutes) and then come to our next meeting to show our certificates, and sure enough the whole team had completed it!" Rachael Merrell - Retail Support Specialist
