What to expect from Cervical Screening

Why you need to Feel

We work with Coppafeel Charity to help raise awareness of breast cancer in the UK.

They are the first breast cancer charity in the UK to solely create awareness amongst young people, with the aim of instilling the knowledge and tools they need to get to know their bodies.  They want everyone to have the best possible chance of surviving breast cancer and they want breast cancer to be diagnosed at the earliest stage possible where survival rates are at their highest.

We at Next, fully support this mission, we want to work closely with this charity and to work on educating young people and teaching them and encouraging them to check your boobs and pecs regularly from a young age.  We therefore add into all of our bras a care label to remind women to self check on a regular basis. See image attached.  We've also designed a capsule range of bras suitable for woman that have gone through surgery and need to wear mastectomy bras.  We worked incredibly closely with the charity and with real women who have gone through their own breast cancer journey.

What is Endometiosis?

Every March, people all over the world show their support for everyone affected by endometriosis.

Endometriosis affects 1.5 (1 in 10) million women and those assigned female at birth in the UK, similar to the number affected by diabetes or asthma.

Endometriosis happens when cells similar to those in the lining of your womb, appear in other parts of the body, such as the ovaries or fallopian tubes. When periods happen, these cells can build up and break away. This causes painful inflammation in surrounding tissues.

What are the impacts of endometriosis?

It can have a devastating impact on a woman’s education, personal and professional relationships, mental health, and quality of life. Heavy periods, extreme fatigue, pain in the lower tummy, pelvis, thighs or back are just some of the symptoms that can be experienced.  Some women also have difficulty getting pregnant.

Cervical Screening

Did you know almost one in three women and people with a cervix don’t take up their invite for a cervical smear test?

Also known as a smear test, cervical screening checks the health of your cervix. The cervix is the lower part of the womb that connects to your vagina. It checks for high-risk HPV and if positive, the cells are looked at to see if they are pre-cancerous. It’s not a test for cancer, but it can help prevent cancer by spotting any problems early. This screening is crucial as it helps to prevent cervical cancer.

We want to raise awareness of such an important health issue and make everyone realise that this health check is an absolute must.

Finding changes in the cells through screening can help to prevent cancer developing.

We want you to have all the facts about this potentially life-saving test.
