A Prescription For Nature

Get Your Daily Dose Of Nature

When we explore Nature - Nature restores us.

During the month of April we're sharing the importance of spending time in nature everyday, just 20 minutes.  It's a fact, nature has so many benefits.  As well as reducing stress and boosting mood it helps you relax, supports your health, provides emotional balance, enables focus, and boosts creativity.

Find nature wherever you are

Being in nature doesn't mean being in a wood or a field in the heart of the British countryside. It could be your local park or even your garden. All it needs to be is a place outside that brings you calm. If you don't know where that local green spot is why not go exploring it could be in the most unlikely of places.

Exercise in Nature

Keeping healthy through exercise has physical benefits as well as mental. Instead of going to the gym why not go for a run, do that Joe Wicks session in your back garden or maybe go on a stroll with the family. You'll be getting the same amount of exercise but the satisfaction of being outdoors.

Protect Nature

We've all seen and heard how the planet is changing due to climate change. Why not spend your time in nature doing something to combat it. You could spend time planting some trees in your community or garden. Or why not volunteer for a local clean up to remove litter from the areas around you.

Bring Nature to you

Sometimes it’s hard to access natural places because of where you live, how busy you are, how safe you feel or your health. Having plants in the house is a great way to have something natural to see, touch and smell. If planting isn’t your thing, you can also connect to nature through stories, art and sound recordings. Watching films or TV programmes about nature are also great way to connect with and reflect on the planet and what it has to offer.
